Joe Mailloux M.M.

Originally from Petaluma, California, Joe started playing drum set at 12 years old.
He went on to earn music degrees from Humboldt State University and its sister percussion department at Long Beach State University.

As a graduate student he worked with the world percussion ensemble, samba group, and steel pan orchestra; and supplied a master’s thesis on Afro-Folkloric percussion ensembles applied to drum set. 

Joe has taught percussion lessons and classes to all ages in his community. All the while performing  across the region, particularly with the group Samba Da.

Joe currently resides at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, CA. ​
